2022 Trainer Agreement

Dear Trainers,

Thank you for the important role that you play in creating safe spaces for ministry in your congregations and organizations. We are particularly grateful for your willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and new training materials as we meet the challenges of not only a pandemic, but also evolving expectations of what needs to be conveyed in a training.

For many years, we have asked trainers to complete an annual Trainer Agreement, indicating their commitment to serve for the coming year. The diocese will be moving to a new software system in the next year or so, and it’s important that we transfer only current Trainers into the new system. Beginning this year and moving forward, anyone who does not submit a Trainer Agreement that is signed by the trainer and the head of organization will be removed from our list as a Trainer. Of course, a person can always be added again to the trainer list in the future.

Here is important information for Trainers in 2022, including how to access the Trainer Agreement:

  • The Trainer Agreement is now automated (see below). It can be filled in online and submitted electronically. There is no longer any need to print, scan, and email the form to our office.
  • Please continue using the Power Points for both certifications as we continue in a period of transition.  If you have not used the Power Point previously, contact the Safeguarding office for a Trainer Refresher.
  • We will be scheduling Trainer Talks and strongly encourage your participation.
  • Although our office will continue to offer virtual trainings that are open to anyone in the diocese in a certification process, we strongly encourage you to hold trainings at your own locations so that you can address particular concerns or challenges in your context.
  • Please consider leaving your training open rather than restricted to members of your organization. Not all organizations have local trainers, and the trainings offered by our office fill up quickly.
  • Remember, the trainer affiliation will be deactivated for anyone who does not submit the completed Trainer Agreement by May 1, 2022.

As always, we are here to work with you and answer any questions that you may have. Thank you again for your faithful ministry in the diocese.

In God’s mercy,

Lisa
